Hello World!
If you have found your way to this blog, you have taken the first step toward joining a Reading Revolution. If we work together, we can change the world!
Our goal is for every parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or neighbor to teach first language basics to their children before they enter First grade.
Today, the research is conclusive: children who are allowed to learn to read in their first language, first, will do better at all subjects, including learning English as a second or other language. For this reason, we encourage you to start with your child’s mother tongue. Teach all the basic lessons in your first language then systematically introduce a second langauge using exactly the same method. Play and have fun with both languages.
We are here to help. We provide just about everything you will need to teach a preschool age child basic reading and writing skills on our two websites: the LiteracyCenter.net and ReadToday! We currently offer English, Spanish, German, and French. We hope to add your mother tongue soon.
